According to Cruise Industry News in the USA over 100,000 volunteers have signed up to try and secure volunteer places on Royal Caribbean International’s trial cruises as part of the CDC’s new Conditional Framework to restart cruising in the United States.

I appreciate that the cruises are free so that could be a major factor, but the volume of applicants, could also be interpreted as a very strong indicator of the latent demand to get on a cruise ship.

The numbers are actually potentially higher as the forms require a person’s name, phone number, email, Crown and Anchor Society number, and the number of people in a person’s party, which means that it is very likely that there could be over at least 200,000 potential volunteers, even if it assuming each form submitted is for just two people. Nut of course they could be for many more, for example whole families!

Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley posted the news on Facebook, with the programme only launched on November 12 on Facebook after mentioning Royal Caribbean International they were considering having volunteers on November 4.

If you have friends or family in the US that would like to volunteer and sign up, they can do so here CLICK HERE
