Spread the love

In follow up to a recent Global Travel Media article CLICK HERE in a Linked In post, in what is most certainly a highly philanthropic and generous move, which it would be great to see the industry replicating in Australia, Ovolo Hotels founder and CEO Girish Jhunjhnuwala has commented about an amazing programme he has set up, called ‘The Ovolo Homecoming Project’, to support returning Hong Kongers through financial difficulties, with the basis of this project the $1HKD/night initiative, for the 21-day quarantine period.

In a stark contrast, in Australia our returning Australians are charged several thousand dollars for their quarantine  accommodation.

Jhunjhnuwala said that the project is officially partnered with three NGOs: The Zubin FoundationTung Wah Group Of Hospitals and PathFinders Hong Kong 融幼社, with The Zubin Foundation helping secure the right candidates and Tung Wah Group having generously extended their kindness by offering to sponsor a portion of the selected candidates’ returning flights.
He added, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your suggestions, it has been so encouraging to see the support from local and international communities,” and “Moments like these make me feel incredibly proud to call Hong Kong home.”
