Busabout has launched a music inspired Europe trip, hosted by former Triple J host and funny-man Alex Dyson, to cater to rising trend of travellers looking for personalised overseas holidays.

Built using Busabout’s world-first Adventure Planner – which allows travellers to design and book their own itinerary from 38 cities across 14 countries in Europe – Dyson developed the trip exploring the musical highlights of Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin, wrapping up with a four-day experience to Lollapalooza Festival in Germany.

Author, DJ and podcast host Alex Dyson said“the satisfaction of designing and building your own perfect trip holiday is akin to constructing a log cabin from scratch. Brush your hands, step back, and nod gently in the summer breeze at the thing of beauty you have created.”

“I can’t wait to show people the library in Paris. Mainly because “Ou est le bibliouteque?” is one of the few phrases I remember from year 9 french.

“Europe does music festivals on a gigantic scale and rolling up with a ready-made crew will be so much fun. I self-identify as Fluropean, so cannot wait to introduce a bus load of legends to my spiritual home. “

The newly launched platform, Adventure Planner was developed by Busabout after research found 8 in 10 travellers prefer to ditch set itineraries in favour of personalised and custom-made holidays. Adventure Planner allows travellers to design their own trip; they can choose where they want to go, their accommodation style and activities with door to door Busabout coach transport between cities, expert guides and in-ride entertainment.

Tom O’Hara General Manager of Busabout, said “travel as we know it is changing, with people seeking out more personalised and interest led experiences. We saw this as an opportunity to create a platform which challenged cookie-cutter tourism and allowed travellers to design their trip by combining the best parts of a fixed tour like meeting like-minded travellers, door to door transport, knowledgeable guides and on the ground support, with the freedom and flexibility to choose their own destinations, experiences and accommodation style.

“The beauty of the new platform is we can work with great hosts like Alex Dyson, who we are extremely pleased to be working with again, after trips to Europe and Asia in the past. Having someone like Alex create a truly unique once-in-a-lifetime experience is fantastic.

“The trip is packed with once-off experiences including a themed club night led by Alex himself, an exclusive invitation to party with Alex as he DJ’s in Paris and numerous activities in each of the destinations Alex has chosen to visit.”

The trip starts on August 29, 2020 in Paris, stops in Amsterdam and Berlin before wrapping up after Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin on September 8, 2020.

Dyson has handpicked unique optional activities allowing travellers the flexibility to follow the group or travel at their own pace. Top experiences include an exclusive party in Paris where Alex Dyson will perform a DJ set live and a themed club night in Berlin.

Immersive cultural experiences such as a locally guided bike tour of the Dutch countryside, tour of the Paris Catacombs, trip to a fluro museum and smashing up a car in Amsterdam in true rock n’roll style also feature on the itinerary.

O’Hara said: Music and travel go hand in hand and what better way to experience one of the best festivals in Europe than with one of Australia’s most loved DJ’s?”

“Our research showed there was appetite for specialised tours, and this is part of our commitment to being the market leader in flexible travel, one where travellers can call the shots no matter their age or travel style.

“The future of travel is not sedentary, it’s incredibly personalised. Traveller’s attitudes are changing, and we wanted to create a platform that changed with them. We’re not all the same, so why should our travel be?”

Trips start from $1699 depending on accommodation style and optional extras and can be booked here: https://www.busabout.com/itinerary/travel/travel-europe-with-alex-dyson
