Part eight of Tokoriki Island Resort’s ‘Heart & Soul’ series features the resort’s Teppanyaki Host, Senata Marama – otherwise known as “Mama”.
Hostess at the resort’s unique Oishii Teppanyaki chef’s table, Mama has been a passionate Tokoriki team member for 15 years and has more than 25 years’ experience in hospitality.
Oishii Teppanyaki offers an intimate dining option for a maximum of four couples and is one of the resort’s most renowned meeting places, where many guests have made lifelong friends.
Mama complements this setting with her famously fun personality; riddles; and incredible professional, personal service that leaves a positive mark on her guests.
According to Mama, she was born with the bula spirit and when she sees people getting into the bula spirit, it makes her happy.
“Tokoriki is like one big family. When you come to Tokoriki you come as a visitor and you leave as a friend,” she said.
