Passengers who are looking to travel to China now must provide a negative Covid-19 test result
before turning up to checkin. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) advised that the Nucleic acid tests are a result to help minimise the risk of overseas travellers reintroducing the virus back into mainstream China as international travel starts to rebound.

The CAAC also advised that tests should be conducted at facilities designated or recognised by
Chinese’s embassies in their host countries.

Luke Crawford MD of thevisamachine.com said “something like this was eventually going to
happen as travel slowly resumes with safe travel corridors opening and Countries creating travel
bubbles between themselves. We wouldn’t be surprised if this sort of pre health document /
passport will become more of the norm moving forward, This type or additional travel document
is not new, Just think of the traditional yellow fever certificate needed to travel to many South
African and South & Central American countries. All China is doing is bringing it mainstream and
digitising the process. Thevisamachine.com team have been working in the background for the
last few months developing a new business and product for this precise future requirement to
complement the next chapter in the travel industry. Called www.tripsafe.co, at its core it’s an
International Digital Medical Passport To Address and Mitigate Health Concerns and Future
Outbreaks, however it has much wider reaching capabilities such as: securely recording personal
details upon check-in at any location so no more needing to fill in your details on those
clipboards for everyone to see or enter your details every time your required to do a QR scan,
Live dashboard for the vendor to manage the number of visitors on their premises and API
access to connect with other 3rd party profile tools such as: TMC’s, Employee platforms to create
a safe work environment, Next of Kin and opt in health profile for health professional to access
while abroad, passenger mid back office systems and GP and health patient management
systems to upload immutable certificates via our soon to be developed software development kit
(SDK). I’m very proud on what the team has developed so far and we aren’t far off from releasing
it to market and will advise when ready, We welcome everyone’s feedback , input and who may
look to connect with such a product.”

Mr. Crawford also went onto say “As to getting the test done 5 days prior to travelling to China,
We understand this is going to be a tight turn around for many as the testing in some cases can
take weeks or the traveller may visit somewhere else prior to arriving into China, We know the
Chinese Embassies in their host countries are working on the preparation of this new formality
and will advise accordingly to meet with expectations in said countries. Thevisamachine team will
make sure we advise the travel & tourism community once we know more.”
