The City of Chicago Department of Aviation has issued a bid opportunity for the following project: Pedestrian Tunnel Renovations

Description:
Work includes storm sewer rehabilitation improvements, sidewalk improvements above the tunnels, demolition of tunnel interiors, installation of temporary lighting, removal and replacement of tunnel expansion joints, structural repairs of the tunnel concrete walls, and polyurethane soil densification injection through the tunnel walls/floors/ceiling. All work to be applied to all the pedestrian tunnels from Terminal 1, 2 and 3 that lead to the Parking Garage Structure.
Interior Renovations at the Pedestrian Tunnels 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3B, 3C and 3C Glass Pavilion consist of replacement of wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, repair and upgrade of mechanical systems located between and connecting the Main Parking Garage and Lot C to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

A site visit will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2019, at 10:30 AM. A bus will leave after the Pre-Bid Conference Meeting from The Aviation Administration Building 804 located at 10510 W. Zemke Rd, Chicago, IL 60666 and provide return service. Attendees are required to RSVP to CDAbidquestions@cityofchicago.org (include Specification Number 894230 in e-mail Subject Line) no later than the close of business on Friday August 16, 2019, with full names of each site visit attendee along with their respective firm. Site visit attendees shall have state ID’s or Drivers Licenses with them for access to secured areas of the airport. All site visits must be escorted by authorized Department of Aviation personnel. Please be advised that no further site visits will be conducted by the Department of Aviation.
