We’ve all heard of TEDTalks, but how about trying an equally enjoyable TedWalk around the beautiful Tamar Valley and Dartmoor.

The walks are the brainchild of Pentillie Castle owner Ted Coryton, an avid walker and expert on the beautiful strolls to be had in the Devon countryside.

The Coryton Family are all keen walkers and have a backpack full of knowledge and recommendations for the most stunning walks near to the castle in St Mellion in Cornwall.

Ted said: “I have always enjoyed walking around the country with my wife and family and we love exploring. It’s great to walk across fields and wonderful farmland to a coast path up to a breathtaking view.

“We love to see the changing of the seasons and we thought we should share some of the wonderful things we’ve seen over the years.

“We have circular walks and we have mapped them out ourselves. And we have learnt a lot about the history and countryside around every one. There’s so much to see from stone circles to great wildlife.”

The TedWalks, which are not linked in any way to TEDTalks, start from Pentillie Castle which stands proudly on the border of Devon and Cornwall overlooking the Tamar Valley, offering the perfect haven to enjoy the very best walks in the West Country.

Ted chooses specific TedWalks according to the season and weather and a moderate level of fitness is required to cope with Devon’s undulating countryside and steep cliff paths.

The beautiful castle is a family-run award winning wedding and events venue with five-star accommodation set in the centre of a 2,000-acre estate.

And now the Corytons are offering a two-night TedWalks package which includes meeting Ted for cream teas and cake on arrival, a two-course supper, a restful night’s sleep followed by a hearty breakfast before setting off.

Lunch is either a supplied picnic or a local pub and walkers return for a delicious three course dinner in the castle’s beautiful dining room.

On departure day another hearty breakfast is followed by a fascinating stroll with Ted around the Pentillie Estate to learn all about its rich history and stunning gardens.

The next two-day TedWalks walking break at Pentillie is being held on Tuesday, September18th until Thursday, September 20th.

There are also breaks planned for February 11th 2019 and March 11th 2019.
