Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is set to launch its CLIA LIVE series for 2020, with the first event in Perth this month marking the start of an expanded travel agent training program across Australia and New Zealand.

New cruise line presenters and an additional event on the Gold Coast have been added to a packed line-up that will also visit Adelaide, Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane and Melbourne after the upcoming debut in Perth on March 17 & 18.

CLIA Australasia Director of Membership & Events Marita Nosic said last year’s CLIA LIVE program had been a sell-out success and that tickets for 2020 were likely to book fast.

“Our Auckland event is already sold out and there are only a few days left for Perth travel agents to get involved,” Ms Nosic said. “CLIA LIVE gives agent members a rare opportunity to learn about multiple cruise lines in the one place at the one time, so it’s important to sign up and take advantage of the insight that will be on offer.”

CLIA LIVE offers a two-day seminar program in which representatives from the world’s ocean, river and expedition cruise lines gather in the one forum to share product knowledge and insight. The events suit both new-to-cruise travel agents as well as more experienced sellers looking to update.

The theme of CLIA LIVE 2020 will be “The Guest Experience”, allowing cruise lines to provide insight into who their guests are, what unique offerings they provide, how they distinguish their product from others, what they offer returning guests and how agents can attract new clients.

Debut presenters this year include Virgin Voyages, Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) and A-ROSA River Cruises who will appear at several of the events.

CLIA LIVE 2020 will be held in the following cities:

  • Perth – March 17 & 18, Duxton Hotel Perth
  • Adelaide – April 1 & 2, Pullman Adelaide
  • Sydney – April 7 & 8, Rydges World Square
  • Brisbane – April 22 & 23, Mercure Brisbane North Quay
  • Gold Coast – May 19 & 20, Mantra at Sharks
  • Auckland – SOLD OUT – May 26 & 27, Rydges Auckland
  • Melbourne – June 17 & 18, Rydges Melbourne

Tickets are available to CLIA members only and cost A$50+GST or NZ$55 per day, with the option to attend one or both days. CLIA will award 30 accreditation points per day to all attendees. CLICK HERE for details and bookings.
