Australian tourism is of growing interest to the Philippines, with more air services likely between the countries and a newly launched advertising campaign concentrating on one of Australia’s most populous cities.

Cebu Pacific, which already flies nonstop to Sydney and Melbourne from Manila, is increasing its fleet renewal program and took delivery of the first of 32 A321neos two months ago.

Competitor Philippine Airlines (PAL) already uses a A321neo to serve Brisbane. Japan’s All Nippon Airways is buying a 9.5% stake in PAL.

Meanwhile, Philippines Department of Tourism has launched its new advertising campaign, which showcases the breathtaking beauty of Palawan.

The ads display this tropical island paradise on Sydney, with a range of advertisements on 32 carriages along various train lines in the NSW capital.  The campaign, which will run until April 2019, aims to remind commuters of the natural beauty and appeal of the destination.

“We hope that Sydney commuters have noticed our little slice of Filipino paradise on their daily commutes,” commented Norjamin Gallardo-Delos Reyes, Tourism Attaché at Philippine Department of Tourism Australia and New Zealand.

Palawan’s archipelago of almost 2000 islands suits adventurers, wildlife lovers, divers, couples, and those who just want to disconnect and indulge in the ultimate island paradise.  Island-hopping takes travellers from secret lagoons and caves to wildlife sanctuaries and world-class scuba diving.

“As the warmer months taper off into Sydney’s cooler autumn weather and commuters begin craving some Vitamin D, this is the perfect time to remind Sydneysiders of all that Palawan has to offer,” Gallardo-Delos Reyes said.

Enchanting Palawan

“We also have excellent connectivity from all major gateways across Australia.  So, there’s nothing left to do but book your holiday to Palawan and pack a suitcase!”

The campaign was launched with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at Bondi Junction Station, with guests including Norjamin Gallardo-Delos Reyes, Tourism Attaché for Australia and New Zealand, Philippine Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Consul General in Sydney.
