Pimalai Resort & Spa, the iconic and authentic five-star retreat on pure shores of Koh Lanta, is inviting guests to embark on a glittering gastronomic journey this festive season, with a series of exquisite epicurean experiences at a choice of two restaurants, both of which overlook the azure Andaman Sea.

On Christmas Eve, the resort will host a blissful beachfront buffet dinner at Rak Talay, the multi-generational dining destination nestled directly on the white sandy shore. In this idyllic alfresco setting, diners will enjoy an extensive selection of Thai and international dishes, including festive favourites and delectable desserts. All ages will also be treated to live music from a four-piece band, traditional Thai dancing, a fire show, tableside magic tricks, and of course Santa Claus will by dropping in for a special visit.

Perfect for families and couples alike, this enchanting evening is priced at THB 3,999 net per adult, and children aged 5-17 years will pay just THB 100 per year of their age (for example, a 7-year-old child will be charged THB 700). Kids aged 4 and under eat for free, and discounts apply for guests who book Pimalai’s half-board plan.

The Seven Seas, the award-winning hillside restaurant, has crafted a sensational set menu for Christmas Eve – ideal for couples to enjoy while soaking up breath-taking views of Kantiang Bay. Following a welcome cocktail and amuse bouche, this four-course fine-dining occasion will showcase succulent seafood including king crab and chargrilled tiger prawns. A choice of main courses – poached dorade with asparagus and trout roe, or braised veal cheek, veal tenderloin and root vegetables – will embrace exceptional ingredients from land and sea, before the evening concludes with a rich chocolate Wellington dessert.

All diners will be serenaded by a live jazz trio and entertained by a magician, and Santa will make a guest appearance. This set menu is also priced at THB 3,999 net, with reduced prices for kids and half-board guests.

Then, as the decade draws to a close, Pimalai will usher in 2020 in spectacular style with a choice of evening events on New Year’s Eve. At Rak Talay, a beachfront “white party” will start with a sumptuous buffet dinner and a series of live stations on the beach, plus a live six-piece band, a fire show, classical Thai dancing and a magician. After dinner, a live DJ will start spinning tunes for Koh Lanta’s most stylish year-end party! Guests can kick off their shoes and dance the night away barefoot on the powder-soft sand, as dramatic fireworks light up the sky at midnight!

This entire evening, including the dinner, party and free-flow wine, beers and soft drinks served until 1am, is priced at THB 6,999 net, with reduced prices for kids and half-board guests.

Alternatively, The Seven Seas has created a luxurious four-course New Year’s Eve menu. In a serene ambience, with a jazz quintet playing live, guests will be welcomed with a cocktail and an amuse bouche, before embarking on a truly indulgent culinary adventure featuring many rare delicacies. The appetiser of lobster and mango is followed by pan-fried duck foie gras with caviar. The main course promises a tempting choice of turbot, the “King of Fish”, served with organic mussels and a crispy oyster, or prime black Angus beef tenderloin with truffle arancini. This lavish menu ends with a platter of premium cheeses and a divine pink pepper chocolate dessert.

This elegant evening is priced at THB 5,999 net, including  free-flow wine, beers and soft drinks until 1am, with reduced prices for kids and half-board guests. Limited seats are available to book now to avoid disappointment!

Finally, for a truly unique gastronomic experience, Pimalai’s General Manager, Patrice Landrein, personally invites guests to an exclusive Wine Dinner @ The Secret Cellar, the resort’s private dining room and wine vault, on December 21. In this refined atmosphere, the resort’s expert chefs will present a menu of choice ingredients, such as pan-fried scallops and braised lamb shoulder, cooked in creative and contemporary styles. Each course will be perfectly paired with a fine wine that international experts have scored 90 points or more. A real treat for gourmands, this enticing evening is priced at THB 2,890 per person and limited to just eight seats.
