P&O Cruises is set to welcome onboard its ‘Homegrown Hero’ Campbell Remess, the Tassie teenager internationally recognised for making thousands of fluffy teddy bears for sick children and establishing Kindness Cruises to give deserving people a break.
One of nine children in a blended family, Campbell was named P&O Cruises’ Homegrown Hero earlier this year and will be presented with the honour when he sails to Kangaroo Island next week onboard Pacific Jewel.
“It is going to be a pleasure to welcome Campbell and his family on this special cruise for this remarkable young man,” said P&O Cruises’ President Sture Myrmell.
“An amazing teenager, Campbell has wisdom and compassion beyond his years and he has quite rightly been described as a beacon of hope.
“It was an honour for us to name Campbell as our Homegrown Hero earlier this year especially for his work in establishing Kindness Cruises.”
Now aged 14, Campbell began at just nine-years-old making the first of more than 2000 soft teddy bears to date for sick children and adults after borrowing his mum’s sewing machine.
He subsequently founded Kindness Cruises, which allows deserving people to enjoy the soothing benefits of a cruise.
Campbell and his family will be cruising to Kangaroo Island to spread the word about Kindness Cruises and his Project 365 initiatives.
Campbell is looking forward to meeting fellow guests on his family cruise from Melbourne and has even made a special bear for the cruise.
