PROMPERÚ Launches Peru Travel Training Platform for Australian Travel Industry

February 6, 2018 Training No Comments Email Email

PROMPERÚ, the organisation responsible for promoting tourism to Peru, has today announced the launch of Peru Travel Training – an e-learning platform dedicated to the Australian travel industry.

To celebrate the launch of the platform, PROMPERÚ will run an exciting incentive to encourage agents to sign up and start learning. From now until the end of July, agents who complete all eight badges on the platform and submit their ‘Ultimate 10 Day Peru Itinerary’ will be in the running to win one of eight spots on an agent familiarisation trip to Peru later this year. Additionally, the first 40 agents to complete the first 4 badges (Basics, Coast, Highlands and Amazon) will win a special Peru gift pack.

The platform offers a rich variety of information about travel to Peru, separated into eight region and theme specific badges for travel agents to complete. Users of the platform will be able to become specialists in the destination, with content spanning across Peru’s coast, highlands, the Amazon, adventure travel, culture and heritage, gastronomy, as well as basic travel information and a badge dedicated to different styles of travel.

Karina Oliva, Australia Market Specialist at PROMPERÚ, said: “We are thrilled to be launching this program in Australia. We know Peru is already a very popular destination for Australian travellers; however it is also a very large and diverse country with so much to offer. We wanted travel agents to gain confidence in selling to their clients, and to gain knowledge about the countless travel experiences and opportunities beyond the spectacular Machu Picchu.

We are sure agents will very much enjoy learning about destinations they may never have heard of or are unsure about selling, such as Peru’s coastal region, or Kuélap in northern Peru – a site that has recently been named in the New York Times’ list of 52 Places to Go in 2018.”

Users will also have access to the Knowledge Forum, a space to share knowledge and ask fellow agents questions about travel to Peru, as well as the Sales Toolkit – a collection of materials, brochures, images as well as information on key Peru sellers in Australia.
