Spread the love

The Transformational Travel Council (TTC), a collective of global travel businesses and organizations that promote the transformative impact of travel on individuals—as well as the places they visit—has launched a dedicated media membership program for travel journalists with a keen interest in Transformational Travel. Print, digital, broadcast travel journalists and freelancers are invited to apply.

“The universe—especially the world of travel—has undergone profound changes in recent months,” says Jake Haupert, co-founder of the Transformational Travel Council. “The changes we see taking places in tourism and travel aren’t exclusively the result of Covid-19. A shift, a movement if you will, has been building in momentum that resulted in the formation four years ago of the Transformational Travel Council. People around the world are not looking merely to travel. They’re seeking something much more profound. They’re consciously seeking transformational travel experiences that will help stretch, learn and grow into new ways of being and engaging with the world. This type of travel has created a ripple effect resulting in positive impacts on the planet and humanity. Consequently, travelers are seeking more and more stories and content specifically about this kind of travel. Our response at the Transformational Travel Council has been to develop a program that supports and nurtures journalists who feel called to spread the word about Transformational Travel.”

A Herald, as Haupert explains, is one of the eight Archetypes of the Hero’s Journey, which is integral to Transformational Travel:  “The Herald offers the Hero (the individual traveler, if you will) a call to action. Heralds—dedicated travel media with a professed interest in supporting transformation—are the ones who signal the dramatic and psychological need for change, and motivate the Hero to begin their quest.”

The Transformational Travel Council is waiving the inaugural membership fee for the first year. Membership is restricted to media who profess an authentic interest and experience in transformational travel.

Experienced travel media—who meet outlined criteria—can apply online to become a member of the Herald Media Program within the Transformational Travel Council.

The TTC is hosting a virtual Information Salon (featuring TTC co-founder Jake Haupert) on Thursday, November 12 @ 10 am. PST/1 pm EST for interested media who wish to learn more about the Herald Media Program.

For further information, prospective Herald members can contact TTC’s Herald Media Program co-founders, Doug O’Neill (dougoneill@rogers.com) or Elyse Mailhot (elyse@emadventuremarketing.com).
