The guests, who are staying at the iconic Adelaide hotel while they complete their 14-day mandatory government quarantine, were entertained by international German wonder-boy Hans, and danced away their last night to the sounds of Entertainment Adelaide.

Many of the guests were celebrating the completion of their mandatory isolation, with 376 guests checking out of the hotel today.

Pullman Adelaide General Manager, Llewellyn Wyeth, said: “We are doing everything we can to make sure our guests have a comfortable and pleasant stay with us, despite being confined to their rooms. Seeing our guests dancing to the music from their balconies was fantastic. Our team remain focused on providing a great guest service. After all, taking care of others is at the very heart of what we do every day.”

International superstar, Hans commented, “My band, dancers and I haven’t played a live show for six weeks, our last event was the night before restrictions came in. So to finally get together again has been very exciting and also a big thrill to perform for guests who have had a memorable fortnight.

It’s probably up there with one of the more bizarre shows we’ve done, performing to a building full of balconies while I’m on the ground- like some sort of reverse Evita moment.  But I loved seeing everyone singing and dancing along and joining in on the fun from the hotel and reading all the messages from viewers around the world streaming the event.”

Accor Chief Operating Officer Pacific, Simon McGrath, said: “The team at Pullman Adelaide delivered a great experience for their guests. They are not only providing accommodation, but also pastoral care and kindness. I couldn’t be more proud of our incredible team.”

The evening performance was paired with a meal 3 course meal so guests could celebrate the end of isolation.

The hotel team have also delivered many other acts of kindness to their guests, for example:

  • During the past few weeks, 18 guests in isolation have celebrated their birthdays with a special Pullman baked birthday cake.
  • A couple celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary while in quarantine. To mark this milestone occasion the team provided them with a big bouquet of flowers.
  • A Personal Trainer and Yoga instructor filmed 15min workouts from within a room so guests could use their surroundings, keeping physically and mentally fit with in-room exercise.

Pullman Adelaide is one of several Accor properties playing an essential role in the Federal Government directive to house incoming international arrivals for a mandatory 14-day quarantine period, before they go back into our communities.

The hotels are working with health authorities and are following their advice on how best to take measures to protect the safety of team members and guests.
