In the latest violent altercation to disrupt a flight, captured on video, a furious female passenger has whacked her male partner over the head with a laptop, apparently because he looked at another woman.

Not only does the woman hit her burly male companion with the laptop, she also seems to strike a flight attendant in the process.

The in-flight madness took place on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

The woman was filmed flying into a rage and cursing her partner on the packed flight.

As two flight attendants try to calm the situation, the woman can be heard yelling at her partner: “You want to try to f***ing look at other women… F*** you!”

When a flight attendant asks the irate woman to stop swearing because there is a child on the plane the woman responds: “Yeah, I know, I f***ing consulted the f***ing child.”

The story went viral on social media and was run in London’s Sun.

The woman’s partner finally gets up to change his seat – but, as the video shows, the woman leaps to her feet and smashes a laptop over the back of his head, to the screams and groans of other passengers. Then she starts hitting the hapless male with her fists.

Take that! Violent altercation on flight

At the end of the brief, 90-second video, a voice – presumably that of the captain or a cabin crew member, informs the woman she is going to be charged with assault.

“Fine, whatever,” she replies nonchalantly.

The video was shared on Twitter by fellow passenger Julia Scorupco, who added in a thread about the incident: “Yes she hulk smashed a Dell computer on his head”.

For those unfamiliar with the slang, “hulk smash” refers to destructive actions taken in a fit of rage.

Scorupco even injected the brand of laptop into the discussion. Hopefully it wasn’t a Dell Latitude Rugged, the company’s most robust model, which Dell describes thus: “No matter what type of work you do, Latitude Rugged solutions are the right tools to stand up to whatever challenges you face.”

The “hulk smash” video quickly went ballistic, being viewed about 5 million times within 24 hours of being posted.

In an encouraging development, the woman at the centre of the clip has reportedly since been arrested.
