On a recent trip to Australia, the newly appointed CEO of Rail Europe, Khoi Nguyen, shared his visions and plans for the company.Noting that Australia is the second largest market after the USA, Nguyen shared that technology and agility are two challenges for Rail Europe in its mission to further grow and meet the demands of travellers.

He said it is imperative for the company to provide more products, experiences and services that complement Rail Europe’s core offering of rail tickets and passes.

Providing an example, he said, “When people come to France, we want them to discover all different facets of France, not just the Eiffel Tower. There is also the architecture, seaside, food and wine and other interests. We can and should facilitate these add-ons to help our customers immerse in the destination they are visiting.”

Nguyen shared that a major focus for Rail Europe is customer mobility on journeys, which requires cutting-edge technology; while the other focus is to continue growing the Great Train Journeys portfolio and distributing it globally. With high demands for valuable experiences, Nguyen said the Great Train Journeys portfolio will be a “solid leader” for Rail Europe.

Recognising that the strong and long-standing partnerships with local trade plays a large part in Rail Europe’s success in the region, he says technology will also play an important role in the continued strengthening of these relationships.

Agents are reminded that the next instalment of Rail Europe’s Great Train Journeys Showcase will be taking place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of March in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane respectively, where they will meet key suppliers from the world’s most incredible train journeys.
