With strong yearly growth in rail bookings and enquiries, a major focus for Rail Europe is to continue improving its sales and booking processes to help agents be more efficient when assisting their clients.Richard Leonard, Commercial Director for Rail Europe Australasia, says agents require real-time information and useful updates along with good and fast service in order to meet their clients’ demands. In recognising that, the team at Rail Europe has rolled out some useful online tools specially designed to address and process popular requests and provide updated information.

“With just a few clicks, agents can instantly get a quote, invoice, compare products, or even have tickets re-sent to them,” says Richard. “Getting acquainted with our online tools is highly beneficial for the agents as it’s all in real-time, fast, systematic and most of all, there’s a lot of useful tips and information on there that can also be passed on to their clients.

“Compared with phone or email enquiries where waiting times can be long, there is no waiting time when using the online tools. Just a few clicks and you’ll have what you need all clearly laid out on the screen,” he adds. “With the availability of live pricing, agents can immediately secure the best prices for their clients while chatting and planning.

“Our aim is to make things as easy and straight forward as possible for our busy agents because the more efficient we are, then the more efficient they are for their clients.”

Agents are also reminded of the key benefits of booking with Rail Europe. They include:

  1. No booking fees for website bookings over $599 or for any Great Train Journeys and sightseeing products;
  2. Improved pricing and enhanced online booking processes;
  3. Expertise and in depth knowledge on all things rail travel;
  4. Online training via the Rail Experts program; and
  5. An ongoing rewards program where incentives include cash vouchers, food and drink, special experiential events and famils.

Rail Europe also shared that agents who engage with and use the readily available online tools will also earn points towards the Rail Experts program and be rewarded accordingly.
