Spread the love

At Blue Lagoon Cruises we appreciate that some of our pre-booked and potential guests in particular, those traveling from long haul destinations may have had their itineraries interrupted or affected due to travel restrictions recently imposed by various countries in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Blue Lagoon Cruises would like to reassure our trade partners, pre-booked guests and those travelers booked to travel with us or considering booking a Blue Lagoon Cruise in the near future that Fiji currently has no confirmed COVID-19 cases.

As part of the Fiji Government’s initiatives to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19 coronavirus, the Fiji Government has closed Fiji’s borders to international visitors that have been in or travelled from affected countries and/or regions within the last 14 days. The Fiji Government has also implemented strict monitoring and preventative measures for all arriving visitors both at Nadi Airport and also via Cruise ships. Please also be advised that Blue Lagoon Cruises as a member of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is following relevant protocols as set out by CLIA.

We also understand the concerns that some pre-booked guests and/or potential clients may have in regards to “cruising” given what’s been occurring globally and through what’s been widely reported as occurring aboard large international cruise ships. These events have also resulted in a recent advisory issued by the US State Department and also DFAT in regard to cruising. In response, we wish to reconfirm that Blue Lagoon Cruises is not a large ocean going cruise ship and does not call into any international ports.  All our cruising is done within the idyllic Mamanuca & Yasawa Islands of Fiji and at most we are only four hours cruising distance from our home at Port Denarau.  In addition to this and as a bespoke cruise ship operator we only ever have a maximum of 68 guests and 30 crew onboard. Our product is no different to staying in a small resort and has less than half the passengers onboard as compared to a typical short haul aircraft may have.

In order to further reassure and provide confidence to trade partners, pre-booked guests and those travelers considering booking a Blue Lagoon Cruise in the near future, Blue Lagoon Cruises would like to offer a temporary relaxation to our standard cancellation & amendment policy.

  • Any pre-booked guests who are confirmed to travel with us on any Blue Lagoon Cruise departure for the remainder of  2020 or across the first half 2021 can choose to postpone their cruise at any time up until 72 hours prior to departure without incurring any cancellation or amendment fees. Bookings will still be invoiced as per the departure date confirmed at time of booking however your clients and our guests will be able to amend their departure date an unlimited amount of times for travel up until, and including departures on the 28th of June 2021. Dates changes will of course be confirmed subject to availability.
  • In addition, any client who books a Blue Lagoon Cruise between now and the 30th of April 2020 will also be able to postpone their cruise up to 72 hours before departure, without incurring any cancellation or amendment fees. They too will be able to defer their travel up until, and including departures on the 28th of June 2021 subject to availability.

We would like to provide both pre-booked guests and potential clients with the necessary assurance that they can continue to plan and book their travel with us without the fear of being charged cancellation or amendment fees.
