Nestled in the heart of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Restaurant Botanic has been awarded three hats by Good Food in recognition of dining excellence.

Led by Executive Chef Justin James, Restaurant Botanic is the latest in a very short list of restaurants in Australia to be awarded the coveted claim of three hats. Joining an elite list of restaurants and chefs at the very top of their game, Restaurant Botanic and Chef Justin are massively contributing to Adelaide and South Australia’s impact on the national dining scene.

With a menu that centres around innovation and technique, Chef Justin has created a degustation experience that celebrates place and season with many ingredients foraged directly from the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

The menu at Restaurant Botanic is woven with flavours of Australia including emu, green ants, marron, lemon aspen, desert lime, lemon myrtle and the native bunya famous for flowering and producing nuts once every four years.

Since his inception at Restaurant Botanic just 20 months ago, American-born Chef Justin has brought his concept to life with a hugely positive reception from customers and industry having been awarded many accolades including, 5 out of 5 in The Australian, Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year 2023 and Number One Restaurant in SA The Advertiser 2022.

Executive Chef Justin James said, “It’s deeply humbling to be awarded three hats for what we do at Restaurant Botanic. I have to offer massive thanks to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens for allowing us to respectfully forage through one of the world’s most diverse gardens and to the dedicated team who have backed my vision. It’s a collective passion and commitment to food and dining from the team that has seen
us arrive at this level in such a short period of time.”

Restaurant Botanic is open for dinner Thursday through Saturday and lunch on Sundays
