Riviera Travel River Cruises has expanded options for solo travellers in Europe.

Renowned for servicing the needs of solo cruisers, Riviera Travel River Cruises already offers a selection of solo-only cabins – free of any single supplement – on every sailing and every ship all year long. And in 2020, Riviera Travel will offer a record 12 river cruises across Europe exclusively for solo travellers, with all cabins dedicated to solo use and totally free of any single supplement, saving solo passengers thousands of dollars.

To boost options for solos, Riviera Travel has announced that in 2020, it will release a limited number of additional cabins on every sailing at a 50 per cent supplement, delivering considerable savings to solo travellers who missed out on the selected, supplement-free cabins, which can sell out quickly. The extra solo-use cabins, with reduced solo supplements, are subject to availability and advance bookings are recommended

Riviera Travel’s International Sales Manager for Australia, Thomas Morgan, said: “It can be frustrating for solo travellers to find good-value river cruises that don’t come with hefty supplements. That’s why Riviera Travel now offers solo-exclusive river cruises and now an expanded selection of cabins on every sailing, year-round, with zero or reduced solo supplements. The end result is a bigger choice of cabins and more savings for solo travellers on our river cruises across Europe.”

Riviera Travel has also offered some solo cruising tips for river cruisers travelling on their own. These include embracing the freedom of solo travel, not allowing age to prohibit travel, attending welcome drinks and joining excursions on ships to meet fellow travellers, getting to know the crew, the safety and security of river cruises for solo travellers and the importance of ‘me time’ on holidays.

In 2020, solo fares on Riviera Travel’s river cruises across Europe – free of any supplement – are available from A$2859 for an eight-day Rhone River cruise in France, including seven guided excursions, onboard meals and Wi-Fi. Single travellers enjoy a cabin to themselves without the need to share with other passengers. And because each cabin only has one passenger in it on these special sailings, rather than two, solo guests also enjoy the benefits of a more spacious ship.  Fares and cabins are subject to availability.

In 2020, Riviera Travel will offer 15 itineraries on 10 rivers and waterways across Europe aboard 13 luxury ships –  the youngest fleet of ships in Europe, with none older than six years. Riviera’s cruises include spacious cabins and suites, fine culinary experiences and expert-led excursions. Riviera’s five-star cruises are available at fares up to 50 per cent lower than river companies more established in Australia.
