The Hospitality Cloud has become the first accommodation technology company to achieve FedRAMP security certification for its Property Management System enabling it to win a game-changing contract with the US Marine Corps.The RMS Property Management System is the only PMS approved for use by US Government agencies – which must deal with FedRAMP certified technology suppliers – giving it a significant first-mover advantage.
RMS founder Peter Buttigieg says it took more than a year to win FedRAMP certification.
“Protecting the data and privacy of our users has always been central to RMS and we’ve really stepped up our security since moving to a cloud-based operating environment, which is guarded by extremely robust firewalls,” Buttigieg says.
He adds, “FedRAMP certification is a resounding endorsement of our military-grade security protocols and measures at a time when privacy has emerged as a major concern for all technology users.
“It also opens up opportunities for us to work with other US Federal Agencies.”
Meanwhile, Buttigieg says the US Marine Corps is implementing the RMS Property Management system across 19 of its Inns of the Corps and Recreational Lodging locations in the United States, Hawaii and Japan.
“We are honoured to have been chosen to work with the US Marine Corps on this project.”
Buttigieg, who founded the now global business in Australia 30 years ago, says the RMS system includes an advanced property and accommodation management solution with flexible screen layouts ideally suited for the Defense industry.
It’s able to handle all scenarios such as change of station move, temporary additional duty, or taking a holiday.
