About Bira Circuit Racing Track Pattaya

The course derives its name from Prince Birabongse Bhanudej. He was an extremely accomplished sportsman and by any measure the best athletic performer of the Thai royalty. The prince had an illustrious career as a racecar driver, driving in Formula 1 Grand Prix for Maserati, Gordini and Connaught, along with other teams. until 2001 he was the only Formula 1 driver ever to hail from Southeast Asia. Prince Bira also competed in the Olympics three times as a sailor, the only Thai royal to ever do so.

Today, carrying his name and legacy into the future, Bira Circuit offers quite impressive facilities for racing and driving. There is a giant kart racing track, in which full size go karts can hit speeds of up to 100 km/h on the straightaways. Bira Circuit also has an off-road racing track for rally drivers to test their skills on.

The track was founded in 1985 and remains to this day the only internationally certified track in all of Thailand. The location is convenient to Pattaya, and by extension, Bangkok, making it perfect for those looking for a place to race nearby. For those who would prefer to be spectators of the true professionals, Bira also has comfortable stands from which to watch. They also have a bars & restaurants with a wide selection of food and drinks to satisfy all guests. The circuit has hosted some of Asia’s biggest racing events, including the South East Asia Touring Car Zone Challenge and the Asian Formula 2000 competition.

Many Ways to Play at Bira Circuit

Every weekend they have live racing events at Bira Circuit Racing. You can either come along to spectate, or actually take part in the events- if you have the nerves for it! Many of these weekend race events are free, with a small 50 THB fee for parking. If you are coming along to watch, BC has some cool racing shops near the food stands where you can pass the time while enjoying the fun.

Do you want to visit the park to drive your own car? If you already have a racing car, or just a car you want to race, you can bring it and drive in the weekend events.

And even if you don’t have your own cars and want to book the whole venue for a private party or function, that is entirely possible too. You could host your very own Grand Prix with friends. How to find Pattaya Bira Circuit Racing Track

If you are coming to the track from Pattaya by your own car, we would suggest you take Sukhumvit Road to the north and head towards Sriracha from Pattaya until you reach M36. Turn onto M36 and drive for 4km until you see the Bira Circuit Racing Track on your right-hand side, just past the signs that lead to Siam Country Club Golf Course.

If you take a taxi to and from the racing circuit from Pattaya, it will cost you a little more than 1,000 THB roundtrip. But we recommend you take a taxi if you are worried about getting lost!
