On a weekend that ushered in the start of the 2019 NRL season, Australian league legend Steve Renouf appreciated some valued down time with partner Fiona, at the newly established Ruby Apartments on the Gold Coast.http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/

A regular to Queensland’s coastal hotspot, ‘The Pearl’ was suitably impressed with the facilities at Ruby, and how the property is setting a new standard for those looking for a short weekend getaway.

“Fiona and I chose Ruby as we were looking for somewhere close to the beach, that also offered plenty of in-house options that wouldn’t require us to travel too far across the weekend,” said Renouf.

“Coming down from Brisbane on Saturday afternoon we couldn’t have been happier with how easy it was to move through the self check-in facility and be relaxing in our room in the next breath.

“It was only a short stroll down to the centre of Surfers Paradise for Fiona to do a bit of window shopping and I enjoyed my first ride on the G-link light rail which returned just one block away from Ruby.

“The views from the rooms are amazing! You’ve got the hinterland sunset on one side and a beachfront sunrise to appreciate; the best of both worlds really, plus the spectacular Surfers Paradise skyline at night.

“Our booking included dinner at Stones Restaurant which was a pleasant surprise enjoyed poolside with a group of friends in a very relaxed atmosphere.

“We finished with a nightcap at the Ruby Lounge Bar where the in-house cocktail collection was something that really piqued Fiona’s interest.

“Our Sunday was perfectly rounded out with a short drive out to Cbus Stadium where the Titans hosted the Raiders during the opening round.”

And while while it may not have been the start the Titans were hoping for, Renouf predicts major improvement in the Gold Coast team.

“It’s a been a little while coming, but I sense Titans fans will be enjoying finals footy this year, in fact I predict all three Queensland teams will feature in the 2019 finals series,” suggested Renouf.

“A strong recruitment drive has netted the signatures of Shannon Boyd, Tyrone Peachey and Tyrone Roberts which provides a big middle forward to start their sets on the right note, a match-winning Origin representative and a controlling half to take the heat off Ash Taylor.

“The Roberts injury early last week was tough, but you’ve got AJ Brimson and Ryley Jacks teaming up against the Sharks so who knows what they’ll produce as a halves pairing.

“Having Mal Meninga on board as head of performance and culture is only going to boost the Titans in 2019. Mal is a winner and he will instil that mentality in the team.”

Management at The Ruby Collection was ecstatic with the star-studded feedback and provided an open invitation to the couple to return soon.

“I’m glad Steve and Fiona had the chance to sample Stones Restaurant, which is perfectly equipped for intimate occasions and creating memorable moments with that special someone,” said CEO David Brook.

“Ruby’s Lounge Bar offers the perfect start or finish to your evening, with a wide range of cocktails, premium wines and an extensive whiskey menu.

“Acknowledging the wide diversity of tastes and preferences of our guests, our chefs are very accommodating, offering a large array of vegetarian options and catering to a wide range of dietary requirements.

“The Ruby Collection doesn’t do ordinary and you’re assured some of the best food and wine experiences in Surfers Paradise, without even leaving your hotel.

“For footy fans travelling to the Gold Coast during the upcoming season and looking for somewhere to stay, we encourage you to jump online and make a booking with us.

“The Q-clash is locked in for July 27 so for all Broncos supporters be sure to get in early as this year’s game is bound to be another entertaining battle. You won’t be disappointed!”
