‘Safe Travels with Hong Kong Airlines’ enhanced with new e-boarding service

March 15, 2021 Aviation No Comments Email Email

Passengers departing on Hong Kong Airlines flight HX254 to Taipei experienced a seamless and contact-free boarding process at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) today. Using the new e-Boarding Gate facility, passengers were cleared for boarding with a simple one-step facial recognition procedure at the gate, without having to show their documents again.

Observing the boarding process this afternoon, Hong Kong Airlines Director of Service Delivery
Chris Birt welcomes the new self-service facility.

“We are delighted to work with HKIA to offer a safe boarding experience to our passengers.

Together with the preventive measures that were already implemented throughout our customer journey, passengers can be further assured of their safety and well-being when travelling with Hong Kong Airlines.”

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the first airports in the world to introduce contact-free
boarding procedures for international travellers with the installation of e-Security Gates and eBoarding Gates. These self-service facilities not only minimises contact with surfaces and interaction with people, it also offers a seamless kerb to gate experience and shortens boarding
time.

Hong Kong Airlines currently operates a number of passenger services weekly to meet various
travel needs.
