The 20th annual Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster will be held from 15th to 24th May in Kununurra, kicking off the tourism season in Western Australia’s incredible East Kimberley region.

Over ten days, the Ord Valley Muster will host a wide variety of events including indigenous culture and dance, food events, wellness sessions, the popular local talent quest ‘Muster Idol’, a proper country rodeo, fireworks and laugh-out-loud comedy. Plus, a special event to commemorate the 20th anniversary is currently in planning.

Getting the party started for the Muster’s 20th Anniversary is the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience and the glamorous Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner which has been moved up the program to the Muster’s first weekend, Saturday 16th May 2020. This coincides with the first direct flights from Melbourne to Kununurra that commence on 15th May 2020 via Virgin Australia.

The black-tie Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner includes riverboat transfers, champagne, canapes, multi-course dining under the big Kimberley starry sky and exclusive dance floor to party the night away to some of Australia’s biggest artists. Alternatively, pack a picnic and enjoy the same amazing show in the general admission area of the ‘Moon’ or grab a group of friends and party the night away in the styled and licenced 18+ Vintage Garden.

The Moon has been headlined by the biggest names in Australian music including Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Daryl Braithwaite, Lee Kernaghan, Amy Shark, Pete Murray, The Cat Empire, Bernard Fanning, Guy Sebastian and Eskimo Joe. This year’s exciting line up is just as esteemed and will be announced soon.

After the enormous success of a free family-friendly celebration on the banks of Lake Kununurra last year, locals and visitors can look forward to the new Ord Valley Muster Closing Night Party on Sunday 24th May that includes a diamond dig, free entertainment and children’s activities.

Considered one of the last wilderness frontiers in the world, the beautiful untouched Kimberley landscape is as much of an attraction as the Ord Valley Muster’s star line up; the program will be announced soon.

The Muster is a popular festival that consistently sells out every year. Visitors are urged to start planning their trip now and stay to explore nearby attractions including the Mirima National Park, El Questro, Lake Argyle, Zebedee Springs or take a river cruise along the Ord, the life force of the region or a scenic flight in order to really appreciate the vastness and beauty of the landscape. Travel packages that include flights, tours and tickets to shows will be released soon.

The host town Kununurra is the gateway to magnificent East Kimberley, which rewards visitors with spectacular gorges, natural springs and watering holes, red earth, big bright blue skies, unrivalled natural beauty with the country dotted with fat boab trees.

The State Government is a proud supporter of the event through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.

The Ord Valley Muster will take place from Friday 15th May to Sunday 24th May 2020 in and around Kununurra, Western Australia.
