Canberra will be putting on its cheeriest face for the annual Canberra Craft Beer & Cider Festival, which will be held on Saturday 21st March.

Held in the streets surrounding the Mercure Canberra, the Festival showcases the best of Canberra’s craft beers and ciders, along with local foods and entertainment. Interstate breweries will also be on show, with a record 250 brews available for tasting, along with beer/cider food matching sessions, guest speakers and ‘meet the brewers’ sessions.

Canberra’s rapidly emerging brewing scene will be reflected in the presence of Bent Spoke Brewing Co, Capital Brewing Co, Jono’s Jerky and others, while interstate exhibitors include many of Australia’s most renowned breweries such as Sydney Brewery, Lord Nelson Brewery, Grand Ridge Brewery, Pirate Life, Coopers, Mountain Goat Beer, Modus Operandi and James Squire. Specialist cideries such as Alpine Cider, Frank’s Cider and The Apple Thief will exhibit their range of ciders.

While brews may take centre stage during the day, the Festival is also family friendly, with an extensive range of free activities for children.

A special Festival accommodation package has been released by Mercure Canberra, the host hotel for the Festival.

The ‘Beer Fest 2020’ package includes overnight accommodation at the 4-star Mercure Canberra, a 4-pack of award-winning Sydney Brewery beers, entry to the Festival, 5 Festival tasting tickets, and breakfast. The package is available from $224 per room per night for one or two people (conditions apply).  The special package applies to stays on both Friday and Saturday nights, with special rates for additional nights.
