SeaLink Travel Group (“SeaLink”), Australia’s largest ferry operator, has been awarded a three-year contract as the new operator of the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort ferry transfers in the Whitsundays.

This further strengthens SeaLink’s presence in Queensland where it was recently named as incoming operator of the Brisbane City Council’s iconic CityCat, CityHopper and Cross River Ferry networks as well as already operating ferries to North Stradbroke Island and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, Fraser Island, Curtis Island, Magnetic Island and Palm Island.

SeaLink will run a minimum of two return services per day between Hayman Island Resort and Coral Sea Marina at Airlie Beach.

In addition, there will also be guest transfers between Hayman Island Resort and Hamilton Island Airport to meet all arrivals and departures as required.

The service will employ two fulltime crews and one casual crew operating and maintaining three luxury five-star vessels.

The contract commenced on September 1, ahead of schedule, to ensure seamless continuation of services for the resort and their guests.

According to SeaLink Travel Group CEO Clint Feuerherdt, the contract further demonstrates the customer focused performance capabilities, expertise and strength of the internationally recognised group.

“We are now Australia’s largest multi-modal land and marine transport group and we’re delighted to have secured this contract as a result of our customer-focused service delivery model and extensive marine experience, operating knowledge and can-do attitude.

“We currently operate 80 vessels across the country and we are very happy to add Queensland’s Whitsundays to the destinations we operate in.

“At SeaLink we pride ourselves on delivering the best possible customer experience, ensuring our guests’ holiday begins when they board with us, not when they get to the island.

“Our local area knowledge also adds to our operational capabilities and we look forward to assisting the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort to service the needs of guests in a highly professional and reliable manner,” he said.
