Summer is here – and so are ‘secret garden’ weekend sessions at one of Queenstown’s most iconic hidden courtyards.

Sunny, sheltered, and the perfect spot to indulge in summery tipple, Crowne Plaza Queenstown is opening its outdoor courtyard to guests and visitors with its weekend Summer Secret Garden pop-up.

Each weekend their Tropicana-themed courtyard (think pink flamingos, AstroTurf, sun lounges and bunting) springs to life with live music and summer-inspired cocktails for a gorgeous afternoon summer garden party.

The rosy affair features this season’s go-to refreshment Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin along with Emerson’s beers, Mt Difficulty wines and more.

Guests and visitors keen to indulge in a cocktail, wine or beer on a balmy summer’s afternoon can do so from 3pm to 8pm every Friday and Saturday with live music on the side.

The summer pop-up is just a hop and a skip from the resort town’s many food, entertainment and retail outlets and a good meeting place for groups of friends and families.

Secret Garden sessions are just one of the reasons to visit the hotel this summer.

Complimentary yoga sessions for guests are also back by popular demand, where travellers are invited to ‘tune in’ to their mind, body and nature to help survive the jolly season of over-indulgence.

Resident yogis from Peak Mountain Fitness will be back to run three-times weekly 60-minute classes in an intimate setting overlooking stunning Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables mountain range.

Towels, mats and water are all provided, so there’s no excuse not to rise, shine, stretch and breathe in the clean mountain air.

Getting the holiday season off to a dashing start, guests arriving between December 13 to 24 will celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with New-Zealand inspired memorabilia, vouchers and goodies featuring under the tree each day.

“We can’t give away too much because then it wouldn’t be a Christmas surprise, but expect treats such as Patagonia Chocolate vouchers, gorgeous Esther Small watercolour prints and bespoke Christmas decorations to delight young and old,” says Crowne Plaza Queenstown general manager Anna Edie.

“We love giving back to guests at this special time of year.”

And for families travelling with young ‘uns, take the stress out of the festive break with Crowne Plaza Queenstown’s dedicated kids’ area, where they can take time out with table tennis, foosball and games while Mum and Dad enjoy dinner or a quiet drink.

To cap it all off, guests can look forward to waking up to a special treat with goodie-filled stockings hanging on each door on Christmas Day.
