Sensory experiences, expert panels and masterclasses will showcase the specialist skills William Angliss Institute, provides on Open Day Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2020. This comprehensive virtual sensory experience will explore skills and careers across the foods, tourism, hospitality and events industries.Over 2,000 prospective local, regional and international students are expected to attend the William
Angliss Institute virtual Open Day experience. The flexible and engaging format will fully inform
attendees, through a virtual campus experience.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to hear from nearly 20 guest speakers, get involved in five
virtual masterclasses and engage across five industry panel discussions. The opportunity to explore
programs will be supported through 16 information sessions followed up with the opportunity to talk
directly with teaching experts, alumni and industry advocates in seven live Q&A sessions.
Through a series of engaging masterclasses, William Angliss Institute will be bringing its specialties to life,
including:
• Events styling masterclass showcasing the latest trends hosted by event management teacher
Sandra Grima.
• A series of gin cocktail making masterclasses hosted by Little Lon Distilling Co.,
• The process of fermentation and making brined vegetables demonstrated by Sharon Flynn from
The Fermentary.


• The art of making sourdough hosted by bakery and patisserie teaching expert Paul Hughes
• The role of zoos in supporting and boosting the tourism industry, in partnership with Zoos
Victoria.

In addition, panel sessions across each area of specialisation will give prospective students unique
insights into the diverse areas of studies directly from people who work within them. The Panel line up includes:
