More accolades have come the way of the SMBC Singapore Open and Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong Course.

At the Asian Tour Awards night in Hong Kong, the Tour’s membership voted last year’s SMBC Singapore Open edition as the Best Event on Tour while the Serapong won the Best Golf Course on Tour award.

The SMBC Singapore Open beat off stiff challenges to receive the award for the second time, following success in 2017.

Home of Singapore’s national Open since 2005, Sentosa Golf Club, a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation, has won a host of prizes in recent years, including being named World’s Best Golf Club at the World Golf Awards last year.

“This is a tremendous honour for everyone involved as the players vote for these awards and we are extremely grateful,” said Patrick Feizal Joyce, Senior Vice President, Golf, Asia, Lagardère Sports, a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“It is especially pleasing to win this for the second time and we congratulate our friends at Sentosa Golf Club for earning the Best Golf Course Award.”

The 2020 SMBC Singapore Open tees off next week (January 16-19) featuring England’s Justin Rose, Swede Henrik Stenson and American Matt Kuchar – the gold, silver and bronze medallists respectively at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
