To bring new dimensions of dining and drinking experiences to guests and to capture the outdoor vitality of Summer, Shangri-La has launched ‘Summer Breeze’, a nationwide food and beverage campaign presenting Kaleidoscope Cocktails, the Liquid Art of Coffee Mixology and Baijiu (Chinese hard liquor) cocktails across 50 hotels in mainland China. The campaign will run from 15 June to 30 August 2019. A wide selection of outdoor activities with local experiences is also available in different Shangri-La destinations. http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/

Kaleidoscope is a limited-edition blend of cocktails designed by Shangri-La in collaboration with Pernod Ricard. Beefeater Gin, Absolut Vodka and Havana Club Rum 3 Years, the three classic spirits of the French-headquartered winemaker are used for the six cocktails in the Kaleidoscope series. With their vibrant and colourful presentations and innovative recipes, these cocktails are guaranteed to bring delightful drinking experiences.

The Liquid Art of Coffee Mixology is a series of mocktails and cocktails blending cold-extracted coffee with various ingredients and alcohol drinks to create new and exciting flavours for coffee drinkers.

The Baijiu series, created by Shangri-La’s talented beverage experts, will be introduced in designated hotels around the world from 1 July 2019. This series breaks away from the traditional way cocktails are made by using foreign spirits as the base liquor. The elaborate formulation neutralises various flavours, fully demonstrating the great potential of Chinese liquor in cocktail making and further reinforcing the breadth of its range. The Baijiu series is aimed at catering to the taste preferences of today’s young and millennials. It also reflects the Shangri-La team’s deep respect and salutes to the extensive history and culture of this Chinese liquor.

During the summer season, Shangri-La hotels in mainland China will also present seasonal local delicacies and offer a wide selection of outdoor activities with different experiences in many of our popular hotel and resort destinations. Guests can choose to hold a campfire party and immerse themselves under the stars in Lhasa and Diqing; they can also enjoy a meal inside a Mongolian yurt along the vast grassland or enjoy the seaside breeze with an evening barbecue in a coastal city like Sanya and Xiamen. Guests can also delight in the metropolitan gardens of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Guangzhou; the beer garden in Beijing and the outdoor beer festivals in Wuhan and Xi’an.

“We are always challenging ourselves to create memorable dining and drinking experiences for our guests. This Summer we are excited to showcase three new series of drinks and a host of outdoor dining experiences. We took the approach of capturing the essence of traditional spirits and liquor like Baijiu and Absolut Vodka, and then subtly introducing new elements and twists to bring these drinks to a whole new dimension. We also wanted to present novel and unique outdoor dining experiences for our guests to choose from. This is after all what Summer is about – relaxing and sharing fun times with family and friends,” said Andy Chan, Vice President, Food & Beverage (Asian cuisine and beverage) of Shangri La Group.
