Something new is brewing at Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. In partnership with Kona Brewing Company, the hotel debuts “Hops & Pops,” a beer pairing dinner at Pikake Terrace Restaurant on Friday, June 14.
Hosted by Chef Blake Kajiwara, Mixologist Jesse Suderman and Kona Brewing’s Alex Trolson and Jake Carter, the event is the first of quarterly culinary events at the hotel; it is also in part a celebration of Kona Brewing’s 25th anniversary of business in the islands. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Kapuni Room located on the 11th floor of the Princess Wing. There, a preview of some of the evening’s nine beers will be held, as well as tray passed hors d’oeuvres: Panko Poke Won Ton (paired with Kanaha Blonde Ale) and Kim Chee Kalua Pig Cabbage Croquet (paired with Hibiscus Brut IPA). At 7 p.m., the party moves to the Pikake Terrace where guests will be served family style, complemented by Kaimana Band Duo’s live performance at the poolside stage.
