As Silver Muse continues northwards on her 75-night Grand Asia Pacific Voyage, Silversea Cruises is celebrating the end of her successful inaugural season in Australia and New Zealand.  The iconic, flagship vessel called in Fremantle and Geraldton last week, her last two Australian ports, on her fifth and final local itinerary.

Silver Muse is the largest and most luxurious vessel in Silversea’s fleet and her arrival marked the first time in ten years that Silversea had deployed a brand new ship in the region.  This deployment further represents the cruise line’s commitment to the local market, and guests were thrilled to enjoy a variety of thrilling itineraries encompassing 25 maiden calls throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Adam Armstrong, Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand, Silversea Cruises, said,

“We have enjoyed a magical three months celebrating the arrival of Silver Muse to an array of inaugural ports across the region and over 3,000 guests – two thirds of whom were from overseas – have enjoyed unlocking the authentic beauty of Australia & New Zealand in ‘whispered luxury’.  There have been so many highlights, from the Australian Girls’ Choir who welcomed Silver Muse into Sydney, to the magnificent Maori welcome in Auckland; her inaugural visit has created many memories that will stay with guests for a lifetime.

“We were particularly excited when Silver Muse met with Silver Whisper in Sydney Harbour on the morning of 2 February 2019. This historic rendezvous was the first time in 20 years that two of Silversea’s vessels have met in the harbour city.

“Whilst we are sad to bid farewell to Silver Muse, we very much look forward to her return later this year when she will spend more than four months based in our waters: Silversea’s longest Australia & New Zealand season to date.”

During her three months in the region, the ship welcomed onboard over 2,000 day-visitors for a series of exclusive lunch, dinner and cocktail party events – marking Silversea’s biggest ever inaugural program.  Travel agents, media, past passengers and VIPs consumed over 1,500 gourmet desserts and 4,200 scallops – and sipped on over 5,000 glasses of French Champagne.

In addition, the ship hosted over 100 travel agents on familiarisation cruises: Silversea’s largest local familiarisation program since the brand’s inception 25 years ago.

To commemorate the arrival of Silver Muse to Australian waters, Silversea also announced a campaign to support Australia’s drought-stricken farmers and their families via Rural Aid which has so far generated over AU$30,000.

The 596-guest vessel offers uncompromising levels of comfort, service and quality for the world’s most discerning travellers.  On board Silver Muse, guests experience enhanced small-ship intimacy, spacious all suite accommodations, expansive outdoor spaces and the most comprehensive choice of dining options at sea with eight venues, including specialty choices such as Kaiseki and Indochine, plus 24-hour complimentary dining options throughout the ship.  The all-suite vessel carries her guests in all-inclusive luxury with butler service in all suites.

Silver Muse will return to the region in 2019/20 and stay for over four months (late November to end of March) offering a selection of ten voyages between Australia, New Zealand and – new for 2019/20 – the South Pacific islands of Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
