In April 2019, SIA Group airlines’ passenger carriage (measured in revenue passenger-kilometres) increased by 7.6% compared to last year, ahead of capacity (measured in available seat-kilometres) growth of 6.6%.http://www.stevecafeandcuisine.com/ Passenger load factor (PLF) improved 0.8 percentage points to 83.5%. Singapore Airlines’ PLF improved 0.7 percentage points year-on-year to 83.2%. Passenger carriage increased 7.4% compared to last year, against capacity injection of 6.6%. PLF improved for most route regions due to shift in Easter from end-March 2018 to mid-April 2019, except for East Asia and Americas regions due to significant capacity growth. Efforts continue to be focused on RASK (revenue per available seat-kilometres) performance in the months ahead.

SilkAir’s systemwide passenger carriage increased marginally by 0.1%, against a capacity reduction of 3.0%. Route transfers to Scoot and the temporary withdrawal of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet from service reduced SilkAir’s capacity. PLF increased 2.4 percentage points to 78.1%, with improvements across all route regions. Scoot recorded passenger carriage growth of 10.9% against a capacity injection of 10.1%, which led to a 0.7 percentage-point increase in PLF to 86.8%. PLF improved for West Asia and Rest of World, while East Asia recorded declines. During the month, Scoot launched its inaugural flight from Singapore to Laos, marking the start of its three-times-weekly flights from Singapore to Luang Prabang and Vientiane. The route was previously served by SilkAir.

Cargo load factor (CLF) was 3.9 percentage points lower, as cargo traffic (measured in freight tonnekilometres) fell by 7.5% exceeding the contraction in cargo capacity of 1.4%. Most route regions registered declines in CLF.
