Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Oceania is pleased to announce two new appointments, with Oliver Chong taking on the role of Executive Director Oceania and Anthony Valeriano joining the team as Manager, Oceania.

Commencing 1st November 2019, Oliver will oversee the operations and in-market activities carried out by the STB Oceania team based in Sydney, continuing to ensure that Singapore maintains its leading position as a compelling business and leisure destination for both Australians and New Zealanders.

An STB veteran, Oliver joined the Singapore Tourism Board in 1993, and has held several leadership positions from communications and mega events to media relations and marketing & capability development, where he has been instrumental in developing marketing competencies and skill sets for the Board’s officers. He was also Regional Director Europe, where he steered the operations and in-market activities that were carried out in Europe by STB’s Frankfurt, London and Moscow regional offices to achieve positive growth in visitor arrivals from European markets.

Commenting on his appointment, Oliver Chong said: “I’m looking forward to returning to regional office work and especially building on the fantastic work that the team has been doing so far. We know Aussies and Kiwis enjoy visiting Singapore, so I’m delighted to be able to share some ideas to both inspire new visitors and also enhance their stay with us.”

STB also welcomes Anthony Valeriano to the team, who joined on 1 October and will be overseeing the leisure trade portfolio, development of trade training programs, and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders. Anthony comes to the STB with over 20 years’ experience within the travel industry, having worked in a number of roles across sales and marketing. These range from airlines, to wholesalers, hotels and travel trade media on both trade and consumer campaigns.

STB’s Area Director Oceania Stephanie Yong commented: “We’re thrilled to have both Oliver and Anthony join the Oceania team. Their combined and extensive experience and knowledge will be invaluable assets in our ongoing efforts to promote Singapore to Australians and New Zealanders.”
