John Iannini, President of SITE Foundation, Paul Miller & Rajeev Kohli, Past Presidents of SITE, Benoit Sauvage & Gabby Stanton, Presidents SITE Caribbean and Canada chapters, joined many SITE members and incentive travel professionals for the 7th Hosts Global Forum in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic last week.

Hosts Global is a global alliance of select Destination Management Companies (DMC) offering full-service destination management solutions in over 300 locations around the world.

“Each year, we bring 200+ meeting and event professionals to one of our destinations for immersive education and destination discovery. We chose Punta Cana as our 2019 destination because of its tropical appeal, elevated offerings, venues and unforgettable group activities,” said Marty McKay, president of Hosts Global’s alliance of DMCs. “Plus, the Dominican Republic offers great value for meetings and events.”

SITE Foundation President & Vice President, Meetings & Events at Melia Hotels International, John Iannini added “Recent media reports have portrayed this amazing destination in a very misleading light. The Dominican Republic is diversified like no other island in the Caribbean with pristine beaches, deserts, high mountains, historical sites, waterfalls and remote islands. Its price to value ratio and air lift make it hugely accessible while its people are warm, friendly and welcoming. Meliá Hotels International has been in the DR for decades with a100% record around safety and security”.

SITE Past President, Paul Millar of Spectra Travel in the UK concluded “European incentive qualifiers are always especially motivated by Caribbean destinations that offer endless sun, sand and sea with that wonderful laid back, relaxed attitude. The Dominican Republic encompasses all of these benefits along with an enviable legacy as a mature incentive destination that meets the security demands of sophisticated global corporate clients.”
