In early 2019, South Sea Cruises became the only tour and transport operator in Fiji to achieve Telarc accreditation for both its Quality Management Systems and Occupational Health & Safety Systems. We are pleased to announce that South Sea Cruises has recently renewed both accreditation’s and in doing so also achieved a third accreditation related specifically to the company’s Environmental Management Systems.

South Sea Cruises’ CEO, Brad Rutherford, upon achieving the three ISO accreditation’s stated “to remain an industry leader, it’s important to initiate independent reviews to ensure the systems, policies, procedures and services in place are of the highest possible standards. Achieving ISO accreditation’s through Telarc certainly does this and provides our customers and industry partners even further confidence in their dealings with South Sea Cruises”.

He went on to state that “achieving the Environmental Management Systems accreditation in November 2019 was extremely important for South Sea Cruises given that we focus so much on the environment and reducing our impact wherever possible. Initiatives include our fleet replacement and modernization program over the past two and half years as well as the reduction of single use plastic both aboard Blue Lagoon Cruises and at South Sea Island. These initiatives, among others, were certainly well noted by Telarc as part of the ISO accreditation process and similar initiatives will only continue in the near future”.

The South Sea Cruises accreditation’s gained apply to the company’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001), Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and the newest accreditation achieved being for its Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).

Telarc is New Zealand’s most recognised and longest established body for auditing and accrediting ISO standards that are acknowledged in more than 160 countries.
