Spread the love

Adding to their delicious array of sweet treats, Sovereign Hill has created a limited-edition hard-boiled lolly, available during their Christmas in July: Winter Wonderlights event.

Made with fresh ingredients and a traditional recipe, the lemon meringue flavoured drops are sure to be a crowd favourite.

The 175g jars will also be available to purchase online until Sunday 21 July.

More than 95,000 visitors are expected to enjoy Sovereign Hill’s Christmas in July: Winter Wonderlights event. During the day visitors can enjoy fun-filled pantomimes and theatre performances, join in Christmas themed arts and crafts, stock up on traditional Christmas decorations and try to catch the cheeky Gingerbread man.  Faux snow will fall at regular intervals over the Victorian-style buildings and the smell of Christmas treats will fill the air as visitors are swept up in the excitement of a special European-style Christmas.

By night, listen to live music, dance in the faux snowfalls and watch on as Sovereign Hill is transformed with an incredible new light projection show that will light up Main Street.

Last year, over 10,000 toffee apples were made and sold, over 46 hours of Christmas carols were performed by the brass band, and over 23,400 lollipops eaten at the event.  With only 9 days to go until this year’s event, preparations are underway behind the scenes with over 250,000 fairy lights being hung, over 3,000 Gingerbread Man biscuits being baked, and lines being finessed for the over 160 performances expected to be held in the Victoria Theatre.
