Sydney’s sparkling celebration of all things effervescent is almost here! A first of its kind wine festival, Sparkling SYDNEY promises a program jam packed day with fun, set against the shimmering harbourside Pirrama Park in Pyrmont.

Sparkling Sydney is on Sunday 19 May, 2019 from 11.00am to 5.00pm.

This inaugural major food and wine event will be a celebration of flavour, sustainability, and ethical produce positioned next to Sydney’s glistening harbour and will celebrate the very best in bubbles from Sparkling Cuvee, Malbec, Shiraz, Pinot Chardonnay, Moscato and Zibibbo to Prosecco, Cava and many more.

A unique and cohesive sensory experience, each element, be it beverage, produce or gourmet food, is carefully curated to tie into the central theme ‘SPARKLING’.

Wine Exhibitors

This free event will showcase over 60 sparkling wines from both local and international wineries. The premier Australian list includes Peterson House LtdRedbank WinesSavannah EstateStonehurst Cedar CreekGooree Park WinesTamburlaine Organic WinesSanta & D’Sas,  Bunnamagoo Estate,  Hungerford Hill, Lerida Estate, Mount Majura Vineyard, Pinnaro Wines, Gundog Estate and Vinden Estate. International sparkling wines will be presented by XWineandZ, Made in Italy, Direct Wine Cellars & EuroConcepts.

Craft Beer Exhibitors

For refreshing sparkling craft beers and ales, Little Creatures and Six Strings Brewing Co will be featured on the day ensuring something sparkling for everyone.

Bars & Activations

There will also be a special array of Sparkling Bar activations during the Festival. Stop by the Bellini Cipriani Bar where visitors can savour the luxury of simplicity with a combination of the finest prosecco and fresh Mediterranean white peach, bought to Sparkling Sydney by Venice’s famous Harry’s Bar. For the ultimate food pairing experience, wander over to the ‘The Ridge North Lilydale’ Sparkling Rose + Oyster Bar to try Tasmania’s Best Small Vineyard of the year 2017, where their Sparkling Rose will be matched with delicious NSW Signature Oysters.

In addition, Fever-Tree and Adelaide Hills Distillery will be bringing to life the Fever-Tree Gin and Tonic Garden Bar. Featuring the award-winning range of gin from the Adelaide Hills Distillery including the highly acclaimed Green Ant gin. Here consumers will have the opportunity to discover and immerse themselves into the different flavour profiles of Gin and the importance of pairing with the correct tonic to create the perfect Gin and Tonic.

Gourmet Food

Balance out those bubbles with a wonderful selection of gourmet food offerings.

Sydney’s modern Asian fusion heroes Jimmy Liks will be on hand serving up their signature barbecued chicken and smoked trout and rice noodle salad. Safran, Ettalong Beach’s legendary contemporary Turkish restaurant will have Chef Sulo Kirbancioglu present his Loaded Hummus with various toppings to choose from, and Local restaurant identity Muriel Chen of the popular Blue Eye Dragon will be serving up Jade Huang’s delicious home-made steamed dumplings.

Other gourmet food highlights include: Sir Knuckles Italian style gnocchi with their variety of traditional sauces; Signature Paella by Sofrito bursting with seafood, chorizo, and chicken; Vegan options will be provided by Yulli’s Alexandria; and Meat & Cleaver will use their locally sourced, premium quality meats in delicious gourmet burgers. Finish off your meal with some Alexander Coffee, and satisfy your sweet tooth with handmadeChoux Patisserie and Chillato Gelato.

Produce

Bring a shopping basket and take a piece of ‘Sparkling’ home with plenty of fresh produce on offer. There will be charcuterie and cheeses from La Bastide, award-winning traditional salamis from Goose on the Loose, bottle preserves from Linda’s Original Chilli Relish, Boutique Saucesand Tar10’s gourmet condiments.

Grab some Smoked Salt Seasoning from The Original Smoke & Spice Co. or Hunter Valley Cheese tasting plates and delicious Murrungundy Pistachios. The Market Basket Co. will have sustainable, handmade French market baskets manufactured in Morocco using palm leaves and leather. There will even be Champagne soaps and skincare on offer from Loveshak. Take home a little something sweet, with 100% raw honey and honeycomb from Maya Sunny Honey, handmade eclairs from Choux Patisserie, hand dipped chocolate strawberries from Lush Berries, and organic chocolate range from Cacaoette.
