  • Their travel host will provide masks and hand sanitiser for guests’ convenience.

  • Once in Batam, guests board their private seaplane. They will limit the number of non-related passengers on each flight to ensure physical distancing protocols are met.
  • Their plane travels at a maximum of 7,000 feet (around two kilometres) so fresh outside air is circulated throughout the flight.

Check In
Bawah Reserve was built for a secluded, private holiday. Guests step off the plane and onto the jetty and are met with the fresh breeze and warm Indonesian hospitality. With individual needs arranged ahead of time, guests are taken directly to their rooms for a private welcome and resort orientation by a member of the Guest Relations team. For those who prefer less contact while on holiday, guests can connect with the Guest Relations team via the mobile phone in their room. Everything from snorkeling equipment to explore the reef, breakfast to start the day, or a book from the library to enjoy on the verandah can be delivered with limited interaction.

The Rooms
The Bawah Family is following cleaning protocols to keep their islands safe for everyone. In line with the Singapore Clean hotel certification check list, the rooms are cleaned twice daily and high-touch surfaces around the reserve are cleaned throughout the day. Rooms are left vacant for two days prior to new guests checking in whenever possible.
The Island
The resort is naturally dispersed, with plenty of secluded beaches, lush jungle and quiet areas for guests to enjoy on their own. The activities team is on hand to guide guests on hiking paths, kayaking adventures, scuba diving explorations or to teach new skills like batik painting. These activities can be enjoyed together with a guide or guests are welcome to discover the island on their own. There is plenty to do, and they want their guests to feel peaceful and comfortable during their stay whatever level of interaction they desire.
Dining
Bawah have four alfresco food and beverage outlets for guests to enjoy. The two main restaurants, Tree Tops and Boat House, have ample space for guests to dine at a safe social distance. Guests can also enjoy snacks and light bites while easily maintaining social distance at either The Grouper Bar, all day, or Jules Verne Bar in the evening. Fine dining experiences are available any time of the day in the privacy of suites, while a memorable castaway picnic on a secluded beach or dinner under the stars on your own private island can also be arranged.
The Team
All of the Bawah Family have been through an on-island quarantine prior to guests’ arrival and have their temperature taken twice daily. They have also been through comprehensive safety and health training. The Bawah Family will wear masks while they work, and the on-island doctor is available in case anyone feels unwell during their stay. Bawah Reserve have taken steps to ensure that the island paradise remains Covid-free so that their guests can enjoy the natural beauty and peaceful surroundings that make Bawah so exceptional.
