Stylerunner opens global first store in Melbourne

After eight years dominating the online women’s activewear market, Stylerunner, home to the world’s most coveted women’s activewear, opens its first bricks and mortar store today with a flagship on High St Armadale Victoria and a promise of several more stores to come.

Partnering with award winning Melbourne creative studio, Noise Noise Noise, the ambitious retail space was designed to break free of the norm, and utilises the power of colour and form to boost moods and incite positivity, while digital screens incorporating serene scenes of nature and gentle movement invoke pleasure, joy, and carefree abandon.

Founder and Brand Director, Julie Stevanja noted, “We didn’t want to create another retail store of white walls and timber floors. We weren’t afraid to take some risks with this concept, and Blair Cooper of NNN lived up to the challenge, delivering a standout space that we believe our customers and community will love exploring and immersing themselves in”.

With a theme of wellbeing, references to organic form and nature continue throughout the store, with a shapely lake-like oasis crafted from sycamore timber, marble and champagne steel greeting guests on arrival, vertical trunks cocooning the central sneaker destination, and a neon ‘cloud’ floating above softly textured, bulbous furniture in the rear lounge.

With a focus on an elevated and differentiated experience in the women’s sportswear space, the team have developed a signature store scent, and service in their styling suites is available at the flick of a switch, as is complimentary hydration (water), with internal switches corresponding to illuminated signage outside the styling suites. Customers leaving with a purchase will have their goods lovingly wrapped in logo issue paper and packed into (recyclable) cardboard shopping totes reminiscent of a trip to luxury store, while the first 400 customers spending over $350 to receive a complimentary limited edition glass and silicone water bottle, perfect for toting to yoga or pilates.

The bold new store is part of Stylerunner’s recent update, which includes a new solid logo and e- comm refresh, combined with a soon to be launched ‘Stylerunner’ own brand activewear and athleisure line.

In store, customer can expect to browse dozens of the retailer’s sports brands like Nike, PE Nation, and namesake Stylerunner line, alongside discovering a slew of international imports and emerging labels such as La Detresse, Adam Selman Sport, Exie and more, while endless isle will be assisted digitally, to browse thousands of additional products. The Armadale site is a roomy 200sqm+, while the team are currently in talks to test a Sydney flagship that could be double the footprint.

“Our customers can expect at least 2 more stores opening soon in NSW and QLD, and we are on the hunt for more great retail sites, to continue to bring customers around Australia an incredible curation of premium women’s sports labels that they can finally touch and feel, with sincerest gratitude for their years of support to our brand online” – Founder and Brand Director, Julie Stevanja.
