One of Sydney’s most popular destinations, the Sydney Tower Dining precinct, will undergo a complete transformation from Monday, 2 March 2020 which will include significant upgrades to its two restaurants and the creation of an exciting new lounge bar.

This is the first major redevelopment of the three-level dining destination since operator Trippas White Group took over the venue in 2006. In 2019, close to 300,000 people dined at one of the Sydney Tower Dining restaurants, making it one of the city’s most loved and successful venues.

This sky-high redevelopment, a $12 million-dollar investment from Trippas White Group, sees comprehensive upgrades to 360 Bar and Dining (Level 1) and Sydney Tower Buffet (Level 2), and the launch of a stunning, stand-alone bar experience on Level 3. This towering overhaul is a huge coup for Sydney’s CBD and couldn’t come at a better time as the CBD undergoes its own revitalisation and the community rallies to support various tourism initiatives.

Renowned Sydney design studio, Loopcreative, is working on the interiors with each level revealing its own distinct design and personality. The bar, which replaces an existing events space on Level 3, will be a highly-anticipated destination with an innovative drinks program, bar menu and the prestige of being the highest bar in Sydney at 245 metres above the CBD streets below. It will also take on a bold and cheeky retro look, a nod to the 1970s era when Sydney Tower was being realised.

The flagship, more premium restaurant offering, 360 Bar and Dining, will be a classically elegant restaurant during the day and by night, a sophisticated, opulent space with Sydney sparkling at its feet. The search for an Executive Chef to steer the restaurant is currently underway.

On Level 2, the ever-popular buffet dining area will be significantly refreshed with light and bright decor, introducing terracotta and blond-wood timbers along with all-Australian-designed and made furniture.

Sydney Tower Dining, like no other venue in the city, is Sydney’s highest dining precinct, offering a 360-degree view in slo-mo with both the restaurant and buffet levels taking diners on a revolving tour of the city. It aims to be a first-class destination for all Sydneysiders as well as interstate and international guests offering dazzling views, alongside the best of Australian produce and drinks all within a stunning design.

This major investment from Trippas White Group comes as the group celebrates 30 years in the hospitality business in 2020 and off the back of a stellar 2019 which saw the company’s relaunch of Terrace on the Domain; Botanic House with Luke Nguyen in the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney; the opening of two bar and restaurant venues in the Queen Victoria Building – Reign and Esquire; and also the Yallamundi Rooms at the Sydney Opera House, a repurposed events venue with unparalleled views over Sydney Harbour and Karen Martini overseeing the food concepts.

Trippas White Group Managing Director, Joseph Murray said:

“Having brought innovative designs and food and beverage services to Sydney’s most iconic venues – including the Sydney Opera House, Botanic House, Terrace on the Domain and our QVB venues, Reign and Esquire – Trippas White Group is excited to now turn our creative flair to the magnificent Sydney Tower.

“Sydney Tower is truly an icon of the Sydney skyline, and holds a treasured place in the hearts of Sydneysiders and many local and international tourists. We’re thrilled to be building Sydney’s CBD entertainment and dining offerings by creating a world-class food and beverage destination.

“I can’t wait for everyone to see the new-look Sydney Tower Dining when we open it later this year. It will be a great occasion and we are so proud to be part of it!”

Sydney Tower Dining will reopen in late July 2020.
