We might all be staying at home right now, but NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has a genius way to take a virtual hike.Get out to that favourite track you’ve been missing, finally get around to doing an iconic walk you’ve always wanted to try, or discover a NSW national park you’ve never visited before via Google Trekker.

In partnership with Google, NPWS rangers and staff hit the tracks and trails in mountain, coastline and outback areas across the state to capture more than 1350 kilometres of imagery and footage in over 50 NSW national parks using Google’s special backpack-mounted trekker.

To see how Google Trekker works, watch this video and to explore from your couch, just drag and drop ‘Pegman’ along the track in Google Maps.

Experience 360-degree views of incredible places to feel like you’re there on the ground, and get inspired for your next adventure when it’s safe to get out into NSW’s stunning national parks again.
