Thai players ready to challenge for Honda LPGA THAILAND 2018 victory

“Thai Sisters” Moriya and Ariya Jutanugarn assured they are going to put their best foot forward to clinch the first LPGA title in homeland as a gift for fans.  World’s No.1 Shanshan Feng of China promised to deliver optimum performance at the US$ 1.6 million (approximately THB 51 million) Honda LPGA THAILAND 2018 tournament.

Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd, in collaboration with IMG and partners, has announced that Honda LPGA THAILAND 2018 is ready to kick start the 12th edition of the tournament where eight of the world’s top-10 players will compete for the title along with many celebrated Thai and rising international golf stars in a four-day 72-hole stroke play format with no cut. An all-new Honda CR-V, the 1.6L i-DTEC DIESEL TURBO engine (DT-EL 4WD) worth 1,699,000 baht will be presented to the player who shoots the first Hole-In-One on the 16th hole as a special bonus. The event is scheduled to take place on 22-25 February 2018 at Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course, Chonburi.

Moriya and Ariya Jutanugarn mentioned in a joint statement that they were looking forward to play on home soil again at the Pattaya course, and that they would step up their game to claim victory for fans on such a celebratory occasion like the 12th anniversary of the Honda LPGA THAILAND.

Shanshan Feng who has secured the World Rankings’ top spot for 15 consecutive weeks said, “I am very happy to be back in Thailand again. The country always welcomes me with great hospitality and tasty delicacies. I can’t wait to tee off at the golf course, which I find is one of the most beautiful and challenging.”

Marking the 12th anniversary of the tournament’s journey and Honda’s association as title sponsor, the 2018 edition of the Honda LPGA THAILAND features a total of 70 players, including world’s No.1 Shanshan Feng of China; the second-ranked and US Women’s Open 2017 winner Sung Hyun Park of South Korea who is set to make her debut in the Pattaya course this week; world’s No.3 So Yeon Ryu of South Korea, also a major championship winner as she claimed the ANA Inspiration title last year; Amy Yang (Honda LPGA THAILAND 2017 and 2015), Lexi Thompson (Honda LPGA THAILAND 2016 and Race to CME Globe 2017 winner), Anna Nordqvist (Honda LPGA THAILAND 2014 and 2017 Evian Championship), and Danielle Kang (KPMG Women’s PGA Championship 2017). The tournament will also be joined by Brittany Lincicome of the US, who has recently claimed victory at Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic 2018, the winner of ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open 2018 Ko Jin Young, as well as ten local and international invites.”

Admission tickets of Honda LPGA THAILAND 2018, scheduled on 22-25 February 2018 at Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course, are now available on Ticket for 22 and 23 February’s one-day pass is 350 baht, 24 and 25 February’s one-day pass is 550 baht, weekend two-day pass is 950 baht, and four-day pass is from 1,200 baht. Children of 16 years old and below and senior citizens over 60 years old are entitled to free entry. The event will be televised live in FULL HD on 9 MCOT HD (Number 30).
