An analysis of the most searched for amenities among Australian guests has revealed Pet-friendly listings take the number one spot on Airbnb in 2021. Interestingly, pools were the second more sought-after amenity followed by fully equipped kitchens, free parking and air conditioning.
To help aspiring Hosts turn their spare rooms into spare cash, Australia’s top Superhosts are spilling their secrets on how to create a stay that scores rave reviews.
It’s the unique touches at Scott Hruska’s farm stay and tiny home in Bridgewater, South Australia, that has earned him a coveted place as one of Australia’s top 50 Superhosts. Almost 97% of people who have stayed at Scott’s listings have given him a 5 star review, making him the highest rated Airbnb Host in South Australia, with a staggering 258 5 star reviews.
Scott says the key to creating a great space is to challenge your guest’s concept of living: “The swing in the kitchen of my property is a great example, it’s small details like this that will transform the guests’ total experience.
“We’ll go above and beyond to ensure our guests have everything they’re looking for. We had guests come by helicopter once and we said ‘yes – no problem – we’ll put the cows in the shed’. Anything can be lucrative if you make it engaging for the guest. As a farmer by trade, renting out my property via Airbnb has been an easy way to pay the bills.”
Another top Superhost in her state, Adrienne Francis from Port Stephens, on the NSW Mid-North Coast, boasts a 4.93 star rating for her Hand Made House – a unique octagonal shaped home she built with her partner, which features dedicated places to meditate and incredible views.
On her success, Adrienne says; “Guests love our Airbnb because we built it with our own bare hands.
