Spread the love

Whiskey lovers have something to look forward to in 2020. Offering a fresh take on the whisky bar concept, ‘The Barrel by Feringgi Bar’ is set to open at the Feringgi Grill of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa in March 2020.

As a prelude, The Barrel by Feringgi Bar offered a sneak preview last week for its first batch of whisky aficionados to have a feel of the place and a taste of the fine spirits.

The new whisky bar, measuring 44.5 feet (13.5 metres) long will be the first in Penang to have over 100 labels of whiskies to choose from, including favourites from the Scottish Highlands, to the exceptional flavour profile from the land of the rising sun.

The evening of the soft launch started with the introduction of The Glenlivet distillery in Scotland that produces single malt whisky and followed by Single Malt Sdn Bhd, the top importer of single malts whiskies in Malaysia and Pernod Richard Malaysia, world’s No. 2 wines and spirits producer. Jegan Selvarajan, Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa and Golden Sands Resort said, “The Barrel by Feringgi Bar will soon open to the general public by providing an adventurous journey of discovering Penang’s collection of single cask whiskies. The new open bar located at the Mezzanine floor above the Rasa Wing Lobby has a mesmerising sea view, the gardens and surroundings, especially after sunset when it radiates its warm and cosy ambience. If sipping whisky is not your thing, The Barrel by Feringgi Bar also offers an extensive list of snacks, cocktails, wines and other beverages”.

In the spirit of the place, the Cigar Lounge adjacent to The Barrel by Feringgi Bar offers a long list of quality handmade cigars from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Ecuador.
