Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia has revealed that its upcoming Cruise Industry Awards and gala dinner is now sold out.

The gala black-tie celebration will be held at The Star, Sydney, on Saturday 23 February and with the event at full capacity, CLIA Australasia & Asia Managing Director Joel Katz said it was now time to get on with the job of judging.

“This year saw a revamped nomination process with more award categories than ever before open for peer or self-nomination, including the newly created Cruise Champion award,” he said.

“We’ve been thrilled with the response and inundated with submissions reflecting the passion and hard work of CLIA agents, so it’s fantastic to see an overwhelming number of outstanding nominations right across the board.”

After a big year of cruise, Mr Katz said the association was looking forward to a big night of celebration.

“We’re gearing up for the biggest and best ‘CLIAs’ yet. We have some spectacular entertainment lined up and can’t wait to celebrate with our hard-working members and industry colleagues after another bumper year of cruise,” Mr Katz said.

The event’s headline sponsors are Emirates and Dubai Tourism, gold sponsors include Princess Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises Australia, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and silver sponsors are Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, MSC Cruises, Aurora Expeditions, Silversea Cruises and APT.
