HGU New York Hotel [34 E 32nd St. between Park and Madison Avenues] announces the opening of HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie under its new partnership with the restauranteur and chef, who has taken over the management and operation of all food and beverage outlets at the luxury boutique hotel. An informal-yet-sophisticated haven in Manhattan’s coveted NoMad neighborhood, HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie captures the essence of Northeast summers, with a breezy vibe and food and beverage menus inspired by Montauk’s casual coastal cuisine. The offerings feature summer-friendly fare including fresh seafood delivered daily from Montauk, a signature Frozen Rhubarb Mojito, Long Island wines, and a selection of beer from Montauk Brewing Company.

The summer menu at HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie highlights quintessential summer foods crafted from the freshest ingredients the region has to offer – with a DeLucie twist. Dishes include a signature Maine Lobster Roll (lobster butter, scallion, brioche bun), Montauk Summer Ale Fish Taco (summer slaw, corn tortilla), Summer Dog (beef hot dog, Martin’s potato roll), Local Oysters (1/2 dozen), Shrimp Ceviche (lime, cilantro, chilies, tomato, onion), Green Garbanzo Hummus (house made pita), Elote-style Baby Corn (chili aioli, Fiore Sardo cheese, cilantro, lime), and House-made Ricotta (rustic grilled bread, Mike’s Hot Honey, fresh figs).
A highlight in its own right, HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie’s beverage list perfectly complements the summer-forward food menu. Refreshing offerings include aFrozen Rhubarb Mojito, Long Island wines, and a selection of seasonal and signature Montauk Brewing Company beer likeWave Chaser IPA, Session India Pale Ale, Summer Ale, andWatermelon Session Ale.
HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie serves up a breezy summer ambiance without pretense. Sprawling canvas umbrellas provide shade during the height of summer days, while in the evenings, vintage surf films project on an adjacent wall illuminated by the soft ethereal glow of string lights.
HGU Rooftop by John DeLucie is open to hotel guests and their friends (Monday-Thursday, 4 PM to close; Friday-Sunday, 12 PM to close). Non-hotel guests can make a reservation by emailing
