Spread the love

The Southern hemisphere’s largest lights display, Christmas Lights Spectacular, will be twinkling until 26th January, 2020. Held at the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens, guests will revel in delight as they enjoy over 3 million illuminated lights and a series of newly created immersive displays.

With over 20 captivating displays, there is something magical for each and every person to enjoy! If you’re looking for the perfect activity to take the grandchildren to over this holiday period, this is it. You will create long-lasting memories as you wander down each garden path, and we’re sure they will consider this a highlight of their break. Alternatively, if you’re desperate to escape Sydney for the day or weekend, the Gardens are just a short 2 hour drive from Sydney.

And never fear, the Gardens favourite Christmas essentials are back! Event-goers can capture a moment next to the eight metre tall Mega Christmas tree, and then take the littlies to visit Santa’s enchanting workshop, write a letter to the North Pole and get a photo with Santa Claus himself (until Christmas Eve)*. Popular kids entertainment group Little Scallywagz have returned this year with their Rock’n Elfy’s show to share the Christmas cheer, alongside the event’s most loved magicians and entertainers.

Lovers can soak up the romantic energy in the Lover’s Corner, a newly created experience for those who want to celebrate their love this merry season. Guests can take a stroll through a heart tunnel and enjoy a kiss under the mistletoe with their significant other.

Visitors dreaming of a Northern Hemisphere style Christmas will enjoy the exquisite White Christmas scene, where white treetops, a snow cave and arctic animals will transport them to a land far away. For an extra magical touch, we suggest walking through the new light tunnels, where you’ll be immersed in hundreds of lights as you wander through.

Guests will also enjoy the Around the World display, where they can share moments with loved ones next to some of the world’s most famous landmarks; including new and improved Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Centre Point Tower, London Big Ben and Edinburgh Castle.

For the young and young at heart, you’ll have a ball with inflatable zones, jumping castles and thrill-seeking rides. Fan favourites include the majestic Venetian Carousela Ferris Wheel which gives you a beautiful view of the gardens from above, the classic Swing Chair and a 35 metre Superslide to top off the fun*.

Spectacular staples have remained, including delicious food and beverage stalls, roaming entertainment including carollers (until Boxing Day). The Gardens giant Walk-Through Bauble is back, as big and bright as ever, as well as the all-time favourites of Princess Castle, Fairyland and Candyland. Be sure not to miss their famous fireworks display to be held on New Year’s Eve.

Grace Redman, Marketing Manager of Hunter Valley Gardens says, “This year’s event is our biggest and most interactive yet, with more attractions and installations on offer than ever before. We have incorporated a range of new displays that cater to different audiences. Christmas Lights Spectacular is truly magical for every person, no matter what age they are, so get on board and spread that festive spirit.”
