The Library in Koh Samui is named Hospitality Winner for its Secret Chapters at the BCI Interior Design Awards (IDA) Asia for 2018.
This year’s awards, announced in June 2018, included entries from properties across Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam with the winners selected according to:
- Spatial design: space usage, user-friendliness and functional aspects
• Comfort: ergonomics, emotional aspects and well-being
• Aesthetics: appearance of the space
• Innovation: use of technology or creative ideas and environmental considerations
• Realisation efficiency: practicality and ease of actualisation
The Hospitality award was presented to The Library Project Manager, Ms. Tirawan Songsawat recognising her creative vision and inspired design of the Secret Chapters’ 20 Pool Villa expansion at the property.
The awards’ independent panel of jurors described the Secret Chapters as “an aesthetically pleasing space that provides both freedom and privacy, like an island where one’s secret can be concealed”.
A member of Design Hotels, The Library commenced unveiling the beautiful new one and two-bedroom Secret Pool Villas in November 2017 with the special villas – The Editor and The Writer – due to be available for booking later this year.
